Rainy Tuesday

I love fall and I love rain....what a fabulous day!  I found a new favorite jewelry shop on Etsy called That Jewelry Girl .  Take a look at these lovelies :

My daughter would absolutely love that key with locket necklace (actually, I think it's 2 necklaces!).   She  has a tattoo very similar to that - just don't tell anyone LOL. She  turned 20 last month but Christmas is fast approaching hmmmm.  I don't think she even knows I have a blog, that's probably a good thing :).

Just got home from work

Nothing particularly eventful to write about. It's been raining most of the week but it's not been cold. I actually love rain. My perfect day is a rainy day at home wearing comfy clothes and listening to it fall. *sigh* heavenly :)

A Rainy Sunday Morning...

We had a full house this weekend - Chloe (my 17 year old who we always have), Erik (Richard's 16 yr old son who we have every other weekend or so), and Mia ( my 15 year old who lives with her Dad and who is supposed to come every weekend but has been sporadic about it this summer), + Chloe's assorted friends and boyfriend who was in and out. Chloe and her boyfriend Nicky apparently have gotten a puppy, well, Nicky got a puppy and Chloe's taking care of it a lot I should say. It's adorably cute but not something we want at our house because our Golden Retriever is getting ready to have puppies next week. Then we're getting both our dogs spayed because this was an unplanned pregnancy. Sesame , the Golden Retriever , is just a little over a year old and has only went into heat once. We let her out for like 30 seconds to go to the bathroom and a German Shepard that had been hanging around immediately jumped her and had his way with her. She is undeniably, hugely pregnant right now. I know she'll be glad to get it over with, she has absolutely no energy right now. Richard took her to the vet Friday morning and got her some prenatal vitamins which will hopefully help.

I must go and make a big Sunday breakfast now, everybody's starting to get up. It's an awesome rainy Sunday here in TN, what a great day for sleeping in :). I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend !

I had a great day at the farmer's market in Knoxville today. It started out really soggy but ended up with beautiful blue skies. Fluffy white clouds included :). I should have taken some photos but I kept my camera in the car due to aforementioned sogginess :). I meet so many awesome people there - I really could just sit there and people watch. Of course selling my photographs is an added bonus lol. I'll have to post some photos of my booth soon. Just a photo or two of new artwork today.

LOL. I said I was going to do a decent post on Sunday and here it is Tuesday and I'm just now getting to it. That's sooo sad. I've decided to set up a shop on DaWanda which is basically a European version of Etsy. It's not associated with Etsy in any way but it sells a lot of handcrafted indie stuff like Etsy. I just have to list everything in euros and centimeters - it's quite fun actually. I know I've said it before but I love my job! It makes me very happy :) :) :). I was so not happy at my last job. Working from home is an excellent fit for me.

We got some gas for our grill finally so we've been grilling like madmen the last couple of days. Do madmen grill? Hmmm, I'll have to ponder that one. I have some chicken breasts marinating in lime juice, olive oil and various other seasonings - they should be awesome.

My bf gave our doggies baths yesterday. I'm looking at them outside my window right now laying in the dirt LOL. Oh well. We rearranged furniture in our living room the day before yesterday too. I'm sooo happy with it. Except that I moved our big bookcases and then remembered that I painted around them instead of behind them. That's so funny. So I'm really needing to paint now. I'm so bad about half-ass doing something as far as my house goes. Not with my business however, just my house. Cleaning, painting, you name it. I'll halfway do it thinking I'll get back to it tomorrow (or in a minute) but then I never get back to it. Then I look around my house wondering how half my rooms are half painted LOL. I have such big plans for my house though. We're going to be here for a long time. Especially since Richard and I are both working from home now. We would be working in Knoxville if we weren't and the commute (about an hour one way) was our only draw back to this house (yes, even with all the plumbing issues lol). Now the commute is a non issue and we're actually using one car now too. It was kind of by default since one of them broke, but it's working out great for us. We are feeling like we are contributing to the health of our planet by not driving every day :).

Rainy Day Reflection'

Rainy days and Wednesdays....are beautiful. Especially when you get to go out in the rain and play with your camera :). I took a lot of photos this morning. About half way through, the camera fogged up which created some interesting effects. I love my job :) :) :) :).

I have to have my artwork at the gallery in Knoxville this Saturday - I'm nervous about it all now that it's getting down to the wire. My first gallery exhibit! It's exciting but scary at the same time. I ordered all my photos 2 weeks ago, they got here and didn't work with the mats I had ordered. Silly me ordered them with a 1/4 inch border to make sure the edges of the photo weren't covered up by the mat (or matte-I'm never sure about the best spelling on that) and not only are the edges not covered, the border isn't covered. I shed tears over that this past weekend when they got here. So we had to reorder all of the photos, they should be here today, nothing like last minute is there? So I'll be frantically matting, framing, signing things for the next 2 days lol. It's ok, it's happy stress instead of stressful stress. Did that make sense?

Changed the look of my blog....

So, I've changed my blog look. I may put my banner back up, I'm not sure. I like the dots though. My slogan is "Happy Photography" and this looks happy to me :). I've been thinking about different things to put on my blog instead of just promoting my website and talking a little about my day to day things. I'm thinking about writing about some other fabulous creative people at Etsy, particularly jewelry artisans or those who make body care produce i.e. soap, etc. Those are the shops that my "Favorites" list at Etsy are full of. I've had a good weekend, I sold one of my new photographs :

This made me over the top happy of course. It's so encouraging when that happens :). So it's gone to the print shop now, I uploaded it Saturday night and I should have it back by tommorrow or the next day. I'm really looking forward to packaging it with a little note and mailing it. Hmmm, maybe I should get some little cards printed with one of my photos on them to do that. I think I'll look into that today. I'm busy looking for other online markets where my art will sell, I sent emails to 2 of them this morning. I'm really going to make an effort to keep up with my blogs, etc also. I've not visited my indiepublic page in forever! I'm so ashamed :(. We've had a really rainy weekend here in southeast TN, so I did a 'Rainy' series of art yesterday. Here's what I listed:

These are a little different than some of my others, I think it's good to be versatile :). I really like these, probably becauses rain is one of my favorite things (unless I'm driving in it lol).

So, it's the weekend. We were supposed to go to some kind of cookout but it didn't pan out. I'm glad, it gives me more time to stay home and get things like updating my blogs done :). Our naughty puppies are outside which means no peeing in the house by our newest one (Velvet). She seems to be a verrrrry sloooow learner. It's a little frustrating. Although we had some issues training Sesame too. They're all behind us now though, how quickly we forget lol. I made breakfast for everybody this morning...sausage, eggs,, and toast. We had some sliced mango with it yesterday morning, it was yummy. It's good to be home :).
