Soooo....I quit my day job

Wooohoo, I feel so much less stressed :). I feel a lot more creative, like my time is finally my own, like I can give 100% to my business. I'm doing 3 markets a week now, a Saturday and Wednesday market in Knoxville and a Sunday market in Chattanooga. I'm actually posting from my saturday market as I write....the weather is so very cooperative today. Not raining, not to hot, my tent's in the shade :). Good day :).

Jennifer, I checked out the websites on your business card when we got home. I love your work! My husband fell in love with it too, in particular the canvas print with the fall leaf you had on display on the table at the market today. I wish I could make a whole area for just your artwork in our home. We will definitely be in contact soon. You are so talented and the funny thing is, when I was looking at the sunflower picture and some of your other prints, it made me feel like it was a snapshot of an afternoon when I was little in the 70's. Then I read on your website that you even titled some of your prints/canvases that way! Amazing. Just gorgeous.

And "your happy place" is a perfect description of your artwork!! Glad you can focus on it full time now!! Wonderful stuff!!

Yeah! I'm so happy for you! Sounds like you have a good thing going with those markets...are they all year long or just in the summer?

Meridith, thank you so much for sharing that with me. That's exactly what I want to do with my artwork, to bring up a memory of a different time and place in your life. Maybe a time when things were simpler, or a time when you noticed little things like dandelions or fall leaves. I know we still notice them as adults but they somehow don't seem as magical as they did when we were little :). I love having those kinds of reminders around me so I don't forget to pay attention to all the amazingness that surrounds me when I step outside. Again, thank you for sharing, you totally made my day :) :).

Victoria - thank you...I'm so happy to be able to really concentrate on my artwork now! The markets are awesome, I love doing them. The Saturday and Sunday markets are my big ones, the Wednesday one is smaller. They actually last from the beginning of May thru the end of November. Then the Christmas markets start, They last through mid December. What I'm trying to do right now is get some out of state art shows scheduled for Jan-April. There are a lot of outdoor art markets/festivals in Florida during the winter months. Have Volvo station wagon, will travel lol.
