New Series of Springtime Art

I'm adding 3 new pieces of art to my Etsy Store today. One I uploaded this morning and I'm uploading the other two this evening. Somehow I scored 2 (yes 2!) days off in a row. I was so excited :). So I've cleaned a little house, cleared out the messiest closet we have and planned some new artwork.
I'm calling these the springtime series. They're light and airy, very cheerful.
I think they're the perfect anecdote to the winter weather we've been having. I'm in TN so we're mostly having clouds and cold rain but I saw that you guys in Ohio and Chicago are getting a lot of snow. I think it's the same front...we actually have a chance of snow from it tomorrow.

I'm back to work tomorrow unless we get that snow and schools are shut down. I can't really complain though because the schools were closed last week due to the flu. Work was cancelled on Thursday and Friday for me since the schools I was going to be working at were closed. So that on top of Monday and Tuesday off due to my work schedule, well, I can't really complain about going back tomorrow lol.

I'm looking forward to getting some frames for these and putting them on my wall. I'm planning to upload some photos in my Etsy shop of my artwork framed and matted just so anyone who's interested in buying can get an idea of what they'll look like on the wall. I'm also lowering my prices....the 12x12 size of these prints look really awesome hanging in multiples of 3 so lowering the prices will make them more affordable if anyone wants to buy the whole series.

Creative Sunday

I'm trying to spend my Sunday updating my Etsy listings. I uploaded two new pieces of digital art today. One of them is 'Cross that Bridge When You Come to it' (long title lol). It's in 12x12 and it's an introspective piece. I really like the way the camera caught the sunshine coming over the bridge and the reflection of the trees in the water below. It's available for purchase at my Etsy store, just click a link to the right and it will take you right in there. My other new item is called 'Winter Sun', a lot of dreamy light blues and beautiful contrasts. I like this one, the colors make me happy :).
It's also available, along with my other pieces of art, in my Etsy store at http://www.everydaymoments.etsy.com/.
I discovered today that there is an Etsy Bloggers Street Team. I'm going to try to join so I'm going to be updating my blog to reflect the criteria that they have listed. I'm off work for the next 2 days YAY! so it will be a perfect time to get things updated. My income tax should be here by tomorrow or the next day...I have a whole list of Etsy items that I want/need/havetohave. They're in my shopping cart ready to be purchased the second the money shows up in my account. I'm so excited! I hope it gets here asap because the things in my cart are getting bought by other people and most of them are one of a kind. Once they're gone, they're gone. Etsy has the most awesome stuff :).

Aaack how did so much time go by?!

Sheesh, how did so much time go by since I blogged last? That's so sad lol. I put up the 2 new items in my Etsy shop, they aren't showing there to the right but if you go to my shop, you'll see them right at the top of the heap. They are Refrigerator Makeovers! Sound intriguing? One is a Chocolate and Robin's Egg makeover and the other is a Chocolate and Cherry makeover. You'll just have to click on my shop links on your right to take you there. I think they're really funky and fun.

I've decided I'm going to have to get into a blogging/shop updating ROUTINE if I'm going to make this work. Hit or miss isn't doing it for me lol. So be looking for more frequent posts :).

Back to the real world

I'm getting ready to leave for Ky for a photo shoot tomorrow. I won't be back until tomorrow evening. I'm kind of dreading it after being out sick all last week. Oh well, I'll be staying at a hotel which is always fun. Back to the school photography routine. How I would love to stay in my little office all day at home creating things and taking fun pictures.

BTW, I got chosen for a treasury that somebody made the other day at Etsy. That was awesome. And I finished a project that turned out tremendously well that I'm going to be selling on Etsy. Stay tuned for what it is. It's going to sell for probably $25. This will bring some variety in pricing to my store which is absolutely a must.

Crafty Thoughts

I've been brain-storming most of the day, deciding what direction I want to go in to bring some lower priced items into my store. The idea I wanted to do originally were magnets made with glass tiles. I have tons of old books and materials I could use to make them with. I still want to do that but I started thinking about using old record album covers today. It seems like there are a lot of things you could do with them. I LOVE going to Goodwill and going through their records. They're a slice of pop culture from the past. So I started thinking photoalbums or sketchbooks made from old record albums. I have an idea as far as how I want to do it. And I thought about journals made by taking the pages out of old books and putting in fresh paper and binding it maybe using some kind of grommets or something. There's a lot of cool old bookcovers that would be perfect for it. Tune in to see what comes out next lol.

My store is up and running..

Well, if not running then at least sitting there for whoever stumbles across it to view lol. I'm not counting on early sales though, hmmmm, giving it a month or so before I start feeling discouraged. A bit of bad luck, I opened my store this past Saturday (in the morning) and came down with the flu that evening. So I've just basically been dragging myself to the computer to upload new photos, etc. I'm feeling a little better today though, my first day with no fever, so I'm trying to get things organized.

I want to upload some things in different price ranges...I have several projects I want to start on that don't necessarily involve photography so I can appeal to more buyers. I just absolutely don't have the energy at this point to begin on them. There are lots of good ideas floating around in my head though lol. In the meantime, I'll continue to add more artwork and maybe the right person will spot it :). You can click on any of the photographs to the right and it will take you straight to my Etsy store. Pretty cool huh?

New Blog!

Today I'm starting my new blog, how fun! I'll be posting my creative photography projects, my crafty explorations and doing some blogging about my "real world" job. I'm in the process of opening a store on Etsy and will be selling (hopefully lol) a lot of my artwork there. I'm really excited about stumbling on that amazing site. When I get my store up and running in the next couple of days, I'll be posting a link to it - I can't wait to get started. This blog will be my way of combining the different things I do as far as my regular photography that pays the bills and my creative photography(as well as various crafty projects) into one cohesive, happy, existence lol. That's the plan anyway. So bonjour, gutentag, and hello!
